1 arrested, 2 suspects on the run in attempted ATM theft

MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – One man is behind bars and two other suspects are still on the run after an attempt to steal an ATM.

Bibb deputies say the incident happened just before 03:30 a.m. at the Bank OZK, located at 1701 Bass Road where three subjects using a Ford F150 to try to take the ATM. When deputies arrived on scene, the drove off. After a short chase, the suspects jumped out of the truck and ran on foot. Deputies were able to catch 35-year-old Antuane Mcquell Simmons. It was determined that the truck had been reported stolen.

Simmons is being charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Theft, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Fleeing and Eluding, and Obstruction.

Deputies are still attempting to identify and locate the other two subjects.
