MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – A man is dead after he was hit by a car and the driver of the vehicle is on the run.
The accident happened Thursday night just before 8:30 p.m., in the 1000 block of Riverside Drive. According to reports, a 67-year-old male was standing in the center turn lane in the 1000 block of Riverside Drive when he was hit by a dark color SUV. The SUV did not stop. The driver continued driving northbound on Riverside Drive. The pedestrian was taken to Atrium Health Navicent for treatment but died.
The SUV is described as possibly a Chevy Tahoe with frontend damage. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
