(KBTV)- If you’re visiting Piedmont Macon Hospital during the month of October, you may notice the employees wearing pink every Wednesday. This is in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
According to the CDC, breast cancer is the second most common cancer in the United States. Health experts say men can have breast cancer as well.
KBTV’s Dr. Karlisha Booze talked with Kimberly Lewis, who is an Oncology Nurse Navigator for Piedmont Macon, about risk factors and breast cancer services. Lewis says regular check ups can help with early detection. Piedmont Macon is offering mammogram screenings on Saturdays during the month of October. To watch the full interview, click here.
