Firearm found inside Bibb County Jail

MACON, Georgia (KBTV)- Law enforcement officers found a firearm inside of the Bibb County Jail Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, an anonymous tip of a firearm inside one of the cell block areas of the jail prompted the search. SRT and Corrections CERT Team members performed a search and recovered a firearm hidden inside a wall mounted telephone in an inmate dayroom.

This incident is under investigation.
