Two people arrested in Macon’s fatal shooting

MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – Two men are behind bars and facing murder charges after a fatal shooting in Macon on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 around 5pm.

25 year old Cortavius Hassan Ates was found shot to death near the Jeffersonville Road and Roseview Drive intersection. Since then, Bibb deputies have arrested two men.

On Thursday, The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit with the assistance of the Strategic Intelligence Unit, Drug Unit, Special Response Team, and the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office, arrested 30 year old Kendarrious Rayshun Cone of Macon and 29 year old Marion Antonio Curry of Macon.

Cone was arrested in Twiggs County during a search warrant. Curry was arrested at a home within the 2300 block of Ollie Drive during a search warrant.

Cone and Curry face charges of Criminal Street Gang Activity, Aggravated Assault, and Murder. Cone’s warrant for Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana has been served. Curry’s warrant for Aggravated Assault has been served. Cone or Curry does not have a bond.

The shooting remains under investigation.
