Wellness Wednesday: August is National Breastfeeding Month

(KBTV) – Health experts are promoting breastfeeding during the month of August. It is known as National Breastfeeding Month.

Health officials are working to educate the community on the importance of breastfeeding. Some say it is healthier for the baby and also provide benefits to moms.

Registered Nurse, Jacquelyn Gibbs is a certified lactation consultant at Piedmont Macon. She says there a few things moms can do to continue producing milk so babies can get the nutrients they need. Check out the interview with KBTV’s Dr.Karlisha Booze on Wellness Wednesday.
