MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred Tuesday, April 29, 2025, on Hawkinsville Road near the Allen Road intersection.
At approximately 7:33 a.m., deputies responded to the scene following a report of a collision involving a Chevrolet Avalanche and a Harley Davidson motorcycle. According to initial findings, the driver of the Avalanche was attempting to turn left onto Hawkinsville Road from a gas station when it collided with the motorcycle traveling northbound.
The driver of the Avalanche, a 42-year-old male from Macon, sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. He is currently listed in stable condition. The motorcyclist, 40-year-old David Christopher Lewis from Warner Robins, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Deputy Coroner Richard Robinson.
