MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – Matilda Hartley Elementary School has been named a “Leader in Me” Lighthouse School, the highest recognition for implementing the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People leadership model. Hartley is now the 15th school in Bibb County to earn this distinction.
“This achievement reflects the dedication of our entire school community,” said Principal Dr. LaQuonta Williams-Smith. “We believed in our scholars, our staff, and our mission.”
The school was recognized for strong leadership involvement from both students and staff, and innovative strategies to support student well-being. The school’s methods for addressing various needs on campus like students walking safely to and from school helped Hartley attain Lighthouse status.
