MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – A Virginia woman says her life has taken a powerful turn thanks to support from the A Better Day Than Yesterday Housing Initiative.
The nonprofit, which recently expanded from Virginia into Georgia, focuses on helping individuals impacted by incarceration rebuild stable and productive lives through education, empowerment, and transitional housing support.
Sara, a program recipient, shared her personal journey in an exclusive interview with KBTV’s Dr. Karlisha Booze, describing how the organization provided not only housing assistance but also renewed hope and direction during a difficult period of transition.
“If you want to change you life and you can. This is the way to go,” Sara said. “They give you everything you need, she adds.
A Better Day Than Yesterday Initiative is currently working to renovate a secured home in Georgia that will serve as transitional housing for returning citizens. Leaders say community support through volunteers, sponsors, and donors will be critical to completing the project and expanding its impact.
During the interview, the recipient emphasized that the nonprofit’s approach goes beyond basic services by focusing on long-term stability and personal growth.
The organization’s mission is to educate, empower, and equip at-risk individuals and families with tools to overcome adversity and build sustainable futures.
