HOUSTON COUNTY, GA (KBTV) – Are you interested in teaching from home and earning a competitive salary? The Houston County School District will host a virtual Teacher Recruitment Fair beginning Feb. 24 at 4:00 p.m.
Teachers who are interested can visit the virtual platform on the Land the Job You Love webpage. Participants will explore all of the campuses and hear from principals, teachers, parents and students. After the fair, teachers can apply online and should include a short video of to introduce themselves to school leaders and other administrators.
Houston County’s current salary for a first-year teacher with a bachelor’s degree is $42,871. Adding benefits of approximately $22,793 provides a total compensation package of $65,664. First-year teachers with a master’s degree currently earn a salary of $48,661; adding benefits increases the total compensation package to approximately $72,988. Participants who do not hold a degree in the teaching field may obtain information about getting educator certification.
