Middle Georgia (KBTV) – Melanated Community Stimulation Project Inc. hosted a youth career day on Saturday in Macon at Booker T Washington Recreation Center. The goal is to empower the community and give students a better understanding of their career choices.
Macon-Bibb county are searching for life guards. Due to the shortage of life guards, only two public pools opened on Saturday. Those pools were Delores A. May Days on the Midway Carnival continued throughout the weekend. Attendees were able to play games, eat fair food, and enjoy fair rides. The carnival ends Monday, May 31st. Admission is free.
A local pastor hosted a block party/spring festival on Sunday to welcome church members and community members back to “face to face” church service. Dr. Johnnie Cook, pastor at Greater Allen Chapel AME in Macon, says it’s time the community come together and understand the church family is always here, including times like the pandemic. The festival included live music from AJ the DJ, free food, entertainment from Gamezonwheelzga, and so much more!
Hundreds of people from all over attended the 21st Annual Soul Jam! Many relaxed in their lawn chairs and enjoyed the sights and sounds of well known artists including local talent. The event was held at Henderson Stadium in Macon on Sunday.
