Update: Victim’s boyfriend charged with murder following domestic dispute

A domestic dispute leaves a woman dead Monday afternoon in Macon.

MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – A woman died Monday afternoon at the hospital after she was shot following a domestic dispute.

UPDATE 07/14/2021: Tanesha Thomas’ boyfriend, Leonard Dewayne Holmes has been charged with murder, two counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Purchase, Possession, Manufacture, Distribution or Sale of Marijuana. Holmes is currently being held in the Bibb County LEC without bond.

38 year old Tanesha Thomas was shot in the stomach. The incident happened early Monday morning around 5:30am at 1971 Karen Avenue. Thomas was taken to the Coliseum Medical Center for treatment then later transported to Atrium Health Navicent where she later died. Thomas was pronounced dead at 12:42pm by Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones.

This marks Macon’s 32nd homicide for the year. Details surrounding the incident will be released once they become available.
