MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the driver who hit a motorcyclist and left the scene.
The accident happened just after 3:00 p.m. on Log Cabin and Lafayette Drives. It was reported that 45-year-old David Eugene Kitchens Jr., of Macon, was traveling south on Log Cabin Drive on his Yamaha R1 motorcycle, when he went in the center turn lane and a car turning off of Lafayette Drive heading north on Log Cabin hit him. The driver of the vehicle left the scene before deputies arrived. Kitchens was taken to the hospital where he later died.
The vehicle involved is described as a black Chrysler 300 with aftermarket chrome package. It has extensive front end damage. The traffic collision is still under investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
