MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an inmate that was serving time at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
Deputies found a 59-year-old man unconscious in his cell around 2:30PM on Saturday. Medical staff and Bibb deputies tried to assist the inmate but he was pronounced dead by Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley.
Foul play is not suspected. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death. The inmate was serving time at the jail for a Criminal Trespass case on November 19, 2021.
