MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a dead body that was found Wednesday afternoon.
UPDATE 02/2/22: The body found has been identified as 78 year old James Dumas. Coroner Leon Jones says he received information on Monday that a pacemaker identification number confirmed that it was Dumas.
The body was found in a wooded area in the 1900 block of Sheridan Avenue around 1:00pm. Deputies say a WMAZ employee found the body while searching for a missing person from December, 78-year-old James Dumas.
The body is being sent to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy which will determine the identity of the deceased and the cause of death.
