Mental Health has landed in Fort Valley

FORT VALLEY,GA(KBTV)- Fort Valley State University is getting active about student’s mental health.

Junior Political Science major, Genesis Ivey, hosted a “Trap Yoga” event for students to clear their minds and center themselves. Ivey is hopeful that this will become a regular practice on campus, and even has plans to become a certified yoga instructor.

The session consisted of meditation, affirmations, and a safe space for students to relax.September is Suicide Prevention Awarness Month and student leaders are working to ensure that the student body feels safe to express themselves, as well as receive help.
