MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – A motorcyclist lost control of his motorcycle and died Thursday on the interstate in Macon.
The accident happened just after 3:00 a.m. on the I-16 westbound ramp to I-75 northbound. Reports state a 57-year-old male of Perry, was driving a Yamaha motorcycle on the ramp from I-16 westbound to I-75 northbound. While in the construction area, a tarp that was in the roadway that the motorcycle ran over, got caught in the rear tire causing the motorcycle to lose control and hit the guard rail. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on scene by Deputy Coroner R. Robinson.
The name of the deceased will be released once family is notified.
