Macon teens arrested after crime spree in Macon

MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – Two teens and a 17-year-old are now in custody after investigators say a stolen scooter case quickly escalated into gunfire.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were first called just before 5 a.m. on December 29, 2025 to a home on the 1300 block of Abilene Trail. That’s where two masked suspects allegedly walked onto a porch and took off with two motor scooters. Investigators say the suspects pointed guns toward the home before running away on the scooters.

Minutes later, things turned even more serious. A driver on Greentree Parkway near Unaliyi Trail reported two masked juveniles on scooters fired shots at their vehicle. The car was damaged, but the driver was not hurt.

On January 2, 2026, members of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit and Property Investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Edgewater Drive. Authorities say two males ran from the back of the house. One was quickly caught and identified as 17-year-old Brandon Marquez Mitchell of Macon, who was already wanted on an armed robbery charge. The second suspect, a 15-year-old, was found hiding in a wooded area with a stolen firearm.

Investigators also recovered one of the stolen scooters outside the home and later returned it to the owner. A third suspect, a 16-year-old juvenile, was later identified as the second scooter suspect tied to both incidents.

Mitchell was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, where he’s being held without bond on an armed robbery charge. The two juveniles were fingerprinted and then transported to the Macon Regional Youth Development Center. Both face multiple charges, including aggravated assault, theft by taking, possession of stolen property, and possession of a firearm by a minor.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.
