MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that happened Wednesday afternoon in a Macon apartment complex.
UPDATE: 17-year-old Travis Demontae Gilbert Jr. of Macon. Gilbert turned himself over to Investigators at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Annex at around 2:00p.m.
UPDATE 7/01/21: Bibb deputies are looking for 17-year-old Travis Demonte Gilbert Jr. There’s an active warrant for Gilbert’s arrest for the charge of Felony Murder.
UPDATE 6/21/2021 14 year old Shamar Smith has been arrested and charged with felony murder. Investigation revealed Smith was involved in the homicide of 18-year-old Marquavious Deshaun Wright. Smith was picked up in the Bowden Homes Complex. He is being charged as an adult and is at the Regional Youth Detention Center.
The incident happened around 4:41 p.m at the Majestic Gardens Apartments. According to reports 18-year-old Marquavious Deshaun Wright and 17-year old Deonte Hunt were wounded by gun fire. Hunt was able to call for help after the shooting. Emergency personnel arrived on scene and was able to treat him for his injuries. He was taken to the hospital.
Wright was found inside an apartment and was pronounced dead on the scene by Macon-Bibb County Coroner’s Office.
