Update: Man charged in downtown Macon homicide

MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – Two people are dead and one person is in critical condition at the hospital after a shooting in downtown Macon.

UPDATE 8/17/21: 22-year-old Jacorey Keshawn Meadows was arrested at an apartment complex in Atlanta and is charged with two counts of murder.

On July 24, 2021 a large fight broke out and shots were fired near a nightclub in downtown Macon. 20-year-old Donovan Munir Cason was found dead on the scene. A second gunshot wound victim, 21-year-old Kabryan Johnson was taken to the hospital for treatment but later died. Now, Meadows is charged with both murders. He is currently at the Bibb LEC and has no bond. Meadows also has 5 aggravated assault charges pending.

The incident happened at a Brooke Haven Lounge located at 401 Cherry Street. According to Macon-Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, one person died on the scene and one person died at the hospital . The other victim is in the hospital in critical condition. One male was shot in the head and another male was shot in the chest. Coroner Leon Jones says one of the males were taken to the hospital by ambulance and the other was taken by a private car.
