MACON, Georgia (KBTV)- An investigation is underway after a fatal traffic collision killed one person. The accident happened shortly after 9:00 a.m Friday morning on Broadway at Raines Avenue.
UPDATE: 24-year-old Savannah Steele of Monticello, Georgia, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley.
The collision involved a Jeep and logging truck where both were traveling south. The truck was accelerating when the Jeep ran into the rear colliding with the logs it carried.
The driver of the jeep died on scene. The driver of the logging truck was not injured. The Bibb County Sheriff’s is asking anyone with information to contact them at 478-751-7500.
