MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – A man is behind bars for drug trafficking at lofts in downtown Macon.
Bibb deputies arrested 33-year-old Jesse James Elliott Friday afternoon around 1:35pm at the Dannenburg Lofts, located at 476 Third Street. Bibb deputies were responding to a call of two men fighting and upon arrival, they did not see the other man. The maintenance man stated a man kicked in the door and that’s when the fight began. Deputies searched the loft to make sure the other man wasn’t inside and ensure no one was hurt. During the search, they smelled a strong odor of marijuana and noticed two large, clear bags of marijuana in one of the rooms. The tenant tried to hide the drugs.
The Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit was called and a warrant to search the apartment was obtained. Deputies found over seventy large bags of suspected marijuana, several tote boxes of vape pens, and several mason jars, containing a dark brown liquid. These items will be tested to determine their specific contents.
Elliot is charged with Possession, Purchase, Manufacture, Distribution, or Sale of Marijuana, Trafficking in Cocaine, Illegal Drugs, Marijuana, or Methamphetamine, and Possession of Schedule I or II Controlled Substance with the Intent to Distribute. He is being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center without bond.
