MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – Three cousins opened up a beauty bar in Macon on Saturday.
The beauty bar offers body contouring, waxes, natural hairstyles and wine! Ashley Slocumb, CEO of Nue’ Contour says she and her two cousins, Brandi Howard and Jamona Dixon have been doing business from their homes since the pandemic and wanted to bring a new venue to the area. The women say they hope the new gem in Macon makes women feel and look beautiful inside out. For bookings and prices, you may contact them on social media.
Macon residents continued their weekend ‘Stop the killing’ rallies on Saturday on Eisenhower Parkway at Oglesby Place, holding signs and spreading awareness of non violence. Coroner Leon Jones says the hard work is paying off. There was only one homicide in August. He says the community as a whole made a difference. The next rally is scheduled for Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 5pm on Emery Highway in front of the old health department.
A Macon mother started an organization to educate the youth on the ecosystem. Kids are learning how to cultivate and collaborate to make a difference in their community. The ‘Crumbsnatchers’ participate in community clean ups and other community oriented activities. Organizers say they are just getting started but they’re very much on their way to more experiments in the world.
