UPDATE: Man charged in downtown Macon homicide

MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one man dead in Macon Tuesday afternoon.

Bibb deputies say around 1:54pm, someone was shot at the Loaves and Fishes Ministry, located at 651 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. 45-year-old Carlos Antonio Gordon and 30-year-old John Paul Sewell were involved in an altercation which lead to Swell shooting Gordon. Gordon was taken to Atrium Health Navicent for treatment where he later died. Sewell was taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division to be interviewed. After the interview, Sewell was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, charged with felony murder, and aggravated assault. He has no bond.

The deceased name has not be released yet. No other details are available at this time. We will update the story when more information becomes available.
