HOUSTON COUNTY, Georgia (KBTV)- Houston County High School will perform at the Southeastern Regional Concert Festival at Georgia State University’s School of Music from March 22-23.
This prestigious recognition will allow the Wind Symphony to perform before a knowledgeable audience of music educators, fellow ensembles, and an evaluation panel. Following each performance, each ensemble will receive an on-stage clinic with the Lead Festival Clinician and another evaluation panel member.
Jay Davis, Director of Bands for Houston County High School says, “Being selected for this festival is a tremendous honor. I am so proud of our students and happy to represent the Houston County School District.”
According to The Southeastern Regional Concert Festival organizers, this event is a non-competitive experience that provides an atmosphere for growth, cooperative encouragement, and mutual respect amount program participants, students, parents, boosters, and administrators. This format encourages the ensembles to stretch themselves, reach for new heights, and strive for innovation, growth and excellence, instead of focusing on a rating or placing.
