MACON, Georgia (KBTV)- The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrested an individual in connection with an Aggravated Assault that took place at the Red Carpet Inn, located at 2690 Riverside Drive around 8:47 a.m.
It was reported that 30-year-old, Candrika Tharpe and her ex-boyfriend, 30-year-old Damon Antwon Taylor, got into an altercation at the Red Carpet Inn. During the altercation Tharpe was struck by gunfire.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies and EMS quickly arrived on the scene. Tharpe was transported to the Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance. She is listed to be in critical, but stable condition.
Damon Antwon Taylor was transported to the Investigations Division to be interviewed. After Taylor was interviewed, he was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for the charge of Aggravated Assault. He also has an unrelated charge for Probation Violation-Felony. Taylor does not have a bond.
