MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – A man died from gunshot wounds at a Macon hospital Thursday afternoon.
Bibb deputies received a call about a person assaulting a woman at an address in the 3700 block of Trophy Place just before 5:00pm. When deputies arrived on scene, they found 25-year-old Tyler Wade McElhenn of Lizella, in the front yard of the residence naked with gunshot wounds to the chest.
Reports state the McElhenn had been shot my the victim’s husband. McElhenn allegedly tackled a 67-year-old female while she was on a riding mower cutting her grass. The victim’s husband, a 66 year old man tried to pull the him off his wife but was unsuccessful. The husband later retrieved his firearm and shot McElhenn.
McElhenn was taken to the hospital but died. The female victim was treated at the hospital for her injuries and her husband was treated on the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
