MACON,Georgia (KBTV)-The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent traffic collision that left a man dead
The accident happened Tuesday just after 6:00 p.m. on Georgia Avenue at Monroe Street. It was reported that a Nissan Frontier, driven by 33-year-old Tiffany Hokulani Sayers, failed to stop at the stop sign. Her vehicle collided with a GMC Sierra driven by 61-year-old Jimmie Long. Long’s vehicle flipped over, and he was thrown from the vehicle. Long was taken to the Atrium Health Medical Center and was pronounced deceased by hospital staff. Sayers had her 6-year-old daughter in the vehicle with her at the time of the accident. No one else was injured during the incident. Long’s family has been made aware of the accident and his death.
Sayers was taken into custody and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Endangering a Child by Driving Under the Influence, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, Hit and Run, and Vehicular Homicide. She is being held without bond at this time.
