MACON, GA (KBTV)– School is back in session, and districts across the state are celebrating student’s attendance!
Annually, schools and districts across the country celebrate Attendance Awareness Month during September. This gives schools a chance to stress the importance of students attending school every day and arriving on time.
The District’s Attendance and Transfer Coordinator, Takeysha Lewis, stated “Student attendance directly affects student success. We want to make sure that our students and families know that we are here to support them as we build our community’s future leaders.”
This year, the Bibb County School District will kick off Attendance Awareness Month with a celebration on Thursday, September 1, at 9 a.m. at Ingram-Pye Elementary School. The school is located at 855 Anthony Road.
