MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – A tip led to an arrest of two people who had active warrants. Now, those individuals are being charged with additional drug charges.
On Thursday, Bibb County Sheriff’s Drug Investigators, members of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (S.E.R.F.T.) , and Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies arrested 47-year-old Alvin LaDaniel Simmons and 31-year-old Courtney Dohleah Cranford at the Econo Lodge Inn and Suites located at 4709 Chambers Road for their active warrants. Simmons had an active Felony Probation warrant for the original charge of Aggravated Assault and Cranford had an active Felony Probation warrant for the original charge of Shoplifting.
During the arrest, Bibb Sheriff’s Drug Investigators discovered approximately two ounces of methamphetamines and what was believed to be a half gram of fentanyl on Simmons. The fentanyl tested positive with a field test, but was sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations for further testing and verification.
Simmons and Cranford were both taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Simmons is currently being held without bond, for the charges of Probation Violation-Felony and Trafficking Methamphetamine. Additional charges are pending.
Cranford is also being held without bond, for the charge of Probation Violation-Felony.
