Two teens arrested in Bloomfield burglary in progress

MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – Two teens are behind bars and charged for breaking into some apartments in Bloomfield.

The incident happened Wednesday evening around 4:16pm at the Autumn Trace Apartments, located at 1745 Rocky Creek Road. Bibb deputies received a call about a burglary in progress and upon arrival, spotted the two teens running from the apartment that was reported to have been burglarized. The males led deputies on a brief foot chase. One of the males was holding a handgun and dropped it as soon as deputies caught up with him. The other male was caught in the store parking lot, next to the apartment complex. It was discovered that the handgun was reported stolen out of Bibb County.

The male juveniles ages were 15 and 16. The 16-year-old juvenile was charged with Burglary, Obstruction, Possession of a Firearm During a Felony, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Theft by Receiving Stolen Property. The 15-year-old was charged with Burglary and Obstruction.

Both juveniles were turned over to the Youth Detention Center.
