FORT VALLEY, GA. (KBTV) – Fort Valley State University student leaders have been actively informing students about the importance of early voting.
Stacey Abrams came to Fort Valley on her “Early Vote Bus Tour.” The event was sponsored by Fort Valley State University’s NAACP chapter, Democracy Fellows, and the Political Science Student Association.
Passionate student leaders were inspired and grateful for the visit. Dion Goodwin Jr. says, “Stacey Abrams coming to Fort Valley is monumental. It shows that government is pushing for the political and educational side and how it impacts young voters.”
Abrams used her time to explain the importance of early voting, and emphasized platform points that will directly impact students. Early voting is imperative for this midterm election because ballots have been skewed in previous election on Election Day.
At the end of the program, Stacey Abrams took photos and had brief conversations with everyone that came out. Fort Valley State University students were left encouraged and ready to take action!
