MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – A Macon man was arrested Wednesday afternoon for robbing a local rescue mission.
The incident happened just after 4:30 p.m. at the Rescue Mission Bargain Center, located at 3375 Napier Avenue. According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, 41-year-old Durante Marquis Smith, of Macon, entered the store and took the donation jar off the counter. Smith then threatened clerks after being confronted. He left the store with an undisclosed amount of money on foot. Smith was later located and taken into custody.
He is being charged with Robbery by Intimidation and is being held without bond at the Bibb County LEC.
