MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – A man is behind bars after he attempted to rob a bank in Macon.
41-year-old William Jeffery Lowder Jr. attempted to rob Truist Bank located at 3600 Mercer University Drive around 11:00am on Friday. According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Lowder entered the bank and handed a bank employee a note demanding money. After realizing the employee didn’t have access to a register, he ran away without any money.
Bibb Sheriff’s Investigators were notified of the Lowder’s location and that he wanted to turn himself in. Lowder was located in the parking lot of a shopping center on Presidential Parkway. He was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Annex and was interviewed about the incident then taken into custody. Lowder is currently being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center without bond, for the charge of Attempted Robbery.
