MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – Bibb County deputies have made an arrest in a murder and aggravated assault incident.
32-year-old Keywan Gerold Capers is being held without bond at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He’s charged with aggravated assault and murder.
Around 6:31pm on Wednesday, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Brookhaven Apartments located at 4861 Brookhaven Rd in reference to a domestic call and moments later a person shot call. Upon arrival, deputies found 37-year-old Christopher Matthew Rachalla with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene by Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley.
According to reports, Capers was involved in an altercation with his girlfriend when Rachalla tried to intervene and was shot and killed by Capers. Capers left the scene in his girlfriend’s vehicle after shooting Rachalla. Authorities were able to locate Capers in the vehicle and he was taken into custody with the assistance of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
