MACON, Georgia (KBTV) -The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon at a Shell Gas Station located at 100 South Heron Street.
According to officials, a call came into the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center just after 3 p.m. reporting a person had been shot. Deputies responded to the scene and found a man unresponsive on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was later identified as 27-year-old Ahmad Shahid Roberts. Emergency medical services rendered aid and took Roberts to the hospital, where he died. The Bibb County Coroner’s Office confirmed that next of kin has been notified.
Investigators are still working to determine what led to the shooting. No additional details have been released at this time.
