Domestic dispute shooting leaves woman critically injured in Macon

MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left a woman in critical condition Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies responded to a call just before 5:00 p.m. in the 1500 block of Westminster Drive after a report of a shooting.

When deputies arrived, they found 24-year-old Alasia Smith inside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Authorities say the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute. Smith was taken to a hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

A 29-year-old man, identified as Anthony Allen, was taken to the Criminal Investigation Division for questioning. Following the interview, Allen was taken to the Bibb Law Enforcement Center, where he was charged with aggravated assault under family violence and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Allen is being held without bond.
