MACON, Georgia (KBTV)- A man is behind bars after Bibb deputies say he broke into a family dollar store.
It happened around 12:43a.m on Friday at the Family Dollar located at 800 Pio Nono Avenue. Deputies say they were dispatched to the store after the alarm went off. Once they arrived, they found a window that was temporarily replaced by cardboard, had been pried open. After reviewing surveillance video, they saw the suspect stole cigarettes and lighters before running off.
Deputies searched the area and found a man walking the neighborhood with bags that contained the stolen goods. He was later identified as a match in the video. The suspect, 55 year old Alan Patrick Dortch was taken into custody and has been charged with burglary. He also has a felony-probation violation hold. He does not have a bond.
