One person dead, one in hospital in west Macon shooting

MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – A man is dead and a teenager is in the hospital after a shooting in west Macon.

UPDATE: Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones has identified the deceased as Dominique Walker Jr. and the 18 year male is identified as Ja’Kheen Thomas.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a person shot in the 2000 block of Oglesby Place around 12:47 a.m. Tuesday morning. When deputies arrived, they found two males in the back parking lot of 2029 Oglesby Place suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the males, who is 23 years old, was pronounced dead on the scene. The 18 year old man was taken to the Atrium Health Navicent for treatment. He’s in stable condition.

The names of the victims will be released once family is notified. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 751-7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
