Houston County Principal wins Outstanding Educator Award

HOUSTON COUNTY, Georgia (KBTV) – A Houston County principal is being recognized for his leadership and success.

Will Ray, principal of Kings Chapel Elementary School was announced the winner of the Jim Puckett Outstanding Educator Award from the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders (GAEL). on September 23, 2021. This award is given to educators who exhibit leadership characteristics that are considered a positive role model for others.

Ray said, “I am very fortunate to represent elementary school administrators in Middle Georgia and have enjoyed meeting and working with some outstanding school leaders,” said Ray. “Our region is full of incredible people who are committed to the success of children. All of them deserve a part of this award!

Ray has worked for the Houston County School District since 1997 and has been principal of Kings Chapel Elementary School since 2014. He has also a served as president of the Middle Georgia chapter of the Georgia Association of Elementary School Principals. Through his leadership in this group, Ray promoted fellowship and professional growth among other elementary school administrators.
