HOUSTON COUNTY, Georgia(KBTV)- Eagle Springs Elementary School is hosting a shoe drive to raise funds to meet educational needs.
The drive will be held on September 25, 2021 from noon to 3:00 p.m. The school will collect new and worn shoes and will earn funds from Funds2Orgs based on the total weight of the pairs of shoes donated. The money earned will be used to purchase instructional materials, provide campus improvements, and host teacher appreciation events.
All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of small business partners. Funds2Orgs works with micro-entrepreneurs in helping them create, maintain, and grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of shoes collected during shoe drive fundraisers are used to feed, clothe, and house their families.
Dr. Jeff Washington, principal at Eagle Springs Elementary says, “We know that most people have extra shoes in their closets they would like to donate. By doing so, our school can lay the groundwork for further student achievement while helping families in developing nations who need economic opportunities. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
Eagle Springs Elementary is located at 3591 Highway 41 North in Byron. Dr. Jeff Washington serves as principal. For more information about the shoe drive, please contact the school at (478) 953-0450.
