MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a car crash that left two people dead and two people in the hospital.
The accident happened Sunday morning around around 10:29 a.m., at the Interstate 475/ Interstate 75 split, just north of Hartley Bridge Road. Witnesses say, the driver of a Toyota Land Cruiser was traveling north on Interstate 75. The driver began to merge onto Interstate 475 ,then made a sudden maneuver to merge back onto Interstate 75 north. The driver lost control while making the maneuver. The vehicle began to roll over several times before coming to a complete stop. There were four occupants in the car; all from Albany, Georgia.
The driver, 57-year-old Mark Bruno, was taken to the hospital by ambulance where he later died. The front seat passenger, 24-year-old DeAndre McGhee, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two rear seat passengers are reported to be in stable condition.
