MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – A woman died after she was hit by a car while crossing a street.
UPDATE 3/16/23: Bibb deputies are searching for a shade tree mechanic named “D.” It was reported that the vehicle that hit Pitts originally left the scene and later returned. The owner of the vehicle met with Fatality Investigators and stated that a black male, who is a “shade tree” mechanic, and goes by the street name of “D”, was test driving her vehicle when the incident happened. “D” returned the vehicle to the owner and stated that she needed to go to the scene on Rocky Creek Road.
The incident happened Wednesday night around 9:43pm in the 2400 block of Rocky Creek Road. Bibb deputies say 46-year-old Tracie Yvonne Pitts died on the scene.
The fatal collision remains under investigation.
