HOUSTON COUNTY, Georgia (KBTV) – Houston County School District is celebrating 9 senior students, graduating as recipients of the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) scholarship.

These scholars are well-rounded at their schools, in their communities, and at home.
They exemplify the highest achievements in academics throughout their tenure in high school. While attending other scholastic events and showing their leadership and sportsmanship during extracurricular activities.
With five recipients’ graduation from Houston County High School, other scholars attended Perry High School, Warner Robins High School, Veterans High School, and Northside High.
Director of Gifted Education, Olethia Thomas said the students are being honored for years of hard work and dedication towards their future.
“These scholars are leaders in the Houston County community,” Thomas says.
More than 150 students statewide received a scholarship from the Georgia Department of Education.
