MACON, Georgia (KBTV) – The Macon-Bibb Parks & Recreation Department is now hiring lifeguards for the upcoming summer season as county pools and splash pads prepare to open in late May.
Officials say the position pays $14 per hour, with employees expected to work between 35 and 40 hours each week.

All county lifeguards must be certified through the Red Cross, and the Recreation Department will cover the cost of training for selected applicants. Anyone who can swim and is legally eligible to work in the United States is encouraged to apply.
“We’re looking forward to another great summer at our pools, but safety always comes first,” said Recreation Director Robert Walker. “Our lifeguards play a critical role in creating a fun, safe environment for families, and we’re proud to train and support them every step of the way.”
County pools and splash pads are scheduled to officially open Saturday, May 23, for Memorial Day weekend. Facilities will operate Tuesday through Saturday and will be closed Sundays and Mondays.
