(KBTV) – September is AFib Awareness Month, and KBTV’s Wellness Wednesday is highlighting an important heart-health issue that affects millions of people.
KBTV’s Dr. Karlisha Booze interviewed Serena Fritz, Director of Cardiovascular Services at Piedmont Macon, to discuss atrial fibrillation, commonly known as AFib. During the interview, Fritz explained what AFib is, the potential health risks of leaving it untreated, and why recognizing the warning signs is important.
Fritz also discussed ways people can help prevent or manage AFib, including making healthy lifestyle choices and staying on top of regular medical care. She highlighted the cardiovascular services available through Piedmont Macon to help patients who are experiencing AFib and other heart-related conditions.
